They founded the flat track sport and if they don't have a problem with their refs not wearing quads I don't see where anyone else should get away with making that big a deal of it. In the UK we are going through some considerable learning curves and setting out a refs standard aligned to WFTDA expectations in anticipation of developing enough to be able to gain official qualification is tough but given the number of people striving for this it is clear their is a commitment to the sport and its developement.
